Yves ‘Jetman’ Rossy at it again

September 13th, 2012

The flying legend that is Yves ‘Jetman’ Rossy took to the skies in his jetpack again this week, for a celebratory flight for the history of aviation.

The last time we saw Yves, he was paying a surprise visit flying alongside a commercial plane, but this time he was soaring next to a something a bit more special; the famous World War II Spitfire. These astonishing pictures captured this unique moment.

The flight was arranged to show the stark difference between the classically styled Spitfire, juxtaposed against the state-of-the-art creation of the Swiss designed Jetpack; making for a rather unique spectacle.

I would love to say that we covered you for jetpack travel, but I’m afriad we can’t quite stretch that fa. Maybe in a few years! If you’d like to take to the skies however, we provide brillaint Base Jump insurance and Skydive Insurance, so don’t hesitate to call.

Shark Taming (uninsurable)

September 5th, 2012

Sometimes we come across a video that’s vaguely associated with an activity that we insure that is just simply, cool.

Here’s one of those videos:

Whilst we encourage and insure a broad range of activities and extreme sports, we sadly do not cover shark taming. However, we do offer great scuba diving insurance and even shark cage diving insurance, so don’t hesitate to call if you are embarking on a deep sea adventure any time soon.

Here We Go Again!

August 29th, 2012

All eyes will again be on London for the next couple of weeks as the Paralympics gets underway. Promising the same sporting commitment and pride as the Olympics; we’re looking forward to getting stuck into a myriad of unrecognisable sports, finding new heroes and laughing at the misfortunes of the Austrialians again (sorry if you’re reading this down under).

A few months back we covered the brilliant Paralympic sport of Wheelchair rugby, or, as it’s more affectionately known, Murderball.

We thought we’d give you a heads up some other sports to look out for at the London 2012 Paralympics.

1. GOAL BALL. Does exactly what is says on the tin. A specially adapted game for the partially sighted and blind. The aim of the game is to throw the ball… in the goal. Here’s a video to explain all.

2. BOCCIA. I know, it’s not exactly what you’d call extreme but I think this could be quite a tense little game to get into.

3. 7-A-SIDE FOOTBALL. An adapted version of the 11-a-side game, this version is played by athletes with cerebral palsy. Look out for Scott Sinclair’s brother, Martin, playing for the Great Britian team.

Let us know in the comments, which Paralympic sports you’re looking forward to.
