A quirky little story from New Zealand reared its head this week, as a Andrew Pointon won a courtroom battle allowing him to jog naked in the streets.
He was previously found guilty of indecent exposure last year after being spotted running through a park with a just a pair of trainers on. The conviction was overturned on his second appeal this week however, as the judge likened the incedent to walking past two threatening looking youths; it could be intimidating or even offensive, but certainly not illegal.
The opposing arguement did point out though, that the judge would soon lock this person up if he were to catch him running starkers through his courtroom!
Make of it what you will, Andrew Pointon’s antics do verge on the rather extreme side of the outdoor pursuit spectrum.

We’re a big fan of extreme endurance races here and one of the big boys was over on our shores the past month or so, Tough Mudder.
The previous weekend saw the growing event take place in Manchester, as participants braved the atrocious weather to squirm through mud pits, swim through ice pools and climb over gruelling obstacles; with the aim of completing the 10-12 mile beast of a course.
This video from last month’s event in Scotland will give you some idea of what these competitors have to confornt.

Those of you that even have a vague interest in English football will have heard of ‘The Hand of God’ and the infamus event in the 1986 World Cup that saw the legendary Argentinian player, Maradona, fist the ball over the head of the onrushing England goalkeeper, Peter Shilton, to score a goal for his country. Subsequently, he scored one of the best goals ever seen, but that’s all by the by.
It seems as if this seriously unsporting act is still rubbing off on the players in Argetina, to this day.
Recently, in a lower league Argentinian football game, a substitute took the game into his own hands to prevent a certain goal from going in against his team. I’m guessing he’s the sub goalie, but who can be sure?
