Motorcycles are featuring heavily at this year’s Goodwood Revival with the main event being the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy. Fitting then that Sheen’s son should be following in the footsteps of his double world champion dad during the 10th anniversary year of his death. Freddie rides a Manx Norton in the event, which this year is for 500cc bikes from the sixties and is teamed with GB Supersport champion, Glen Richards for the two races in which the riders swap at half point.
Barry Sheene was a big fan of the Revival and won his final race at Goodwood in 2002 before succumbing to cancer at the age of 52, one year later. We’re sure that racing novice, Freddie will continue to do his dad proud at this annual event and well into the future.
We couldn’t resist adding this footage of the racing legend’s last race in Great Britain. Take a look..

Radio 2’s Zoe Ball along with colleagues Dan Walker and Bobbie Pryor attempted to set a brand new World Record for ‘amount of high fives in a vertical wind tunnel’!
As no record had been set before, a minimum of 15 high fives were needed, but sadly the team, which attempted the feat in front of a representative from Guinness World Records at Bodyflight in Milton Ernest, failed to hit the target.
However, after Ball left, a team of three instructors from Bodyflight attempted themselves and set an official new world record!
The Radio 2 team was unable to break that number, but the team of Parker, Tom Worboys and Paul Mayer smashed the required total, managing 196.
World record holder Ged Parker said: “The BBC guys asked a lot of themselves in trying to set this record, but it just wasn’t happening for them today.
“We weren’t even going to attempt it, but after they didn’t manage to set a record, we decided to give it a go.”
Parker, who is also a skydiver added: “I’ve never tried to attempt anything like this before, and I’m sure the others haven’t either. We were buzzing after we set the record.
“It was a really fun day and Zoe and the guys were a great laugh.”
