One of our favourite extreme sport characters is Valery Rozov. The rock-climber and wignsuit flyer extraordinaire has been seen on this blog a number of times, mainly jumping from mountains from ridiculous heights. This week saw him set yet another BASE jump world record.
Well, this time Valery has gone another step further, by jumping from the North face of Mount Everest. Never one to take the easy route, the ascent from the base camp to the jump location took four days to complete in adverse weather conditions.
7220 meters above sea level, this BASE jump became the world’s highest ever.
The jump was a fitting way to commemorate 60 years since the first ascent up the famous mountain.
