Thinking of wingsuit flying this winter?

You my be planning more conventional activities this winter, for example skiing trips, but this Red Bull adventurist and base jumper achieved a well anticipated dream of his last week. In temperatures of –30c, Valery Rozov base jumped from the top of Antarctica’s Mount Ulvetanna and became the first man to do so. Valery first had to climb the 2931m high mountain before plummeting to the ground from the peak in his Red Bull wingsuit, ‘I felt like an astronaut’ Valery was quoted after taking the plunge. Latest weather crisis brings winter sports closer to home

This weekend saw more evidence of inventive winter sports activities taking place – many taking advantage of the unusual snow conditions.

Its great to take advantage of the Alps and arctic conditions which have arrived on our doorstep these past few days but whilst you would normally tend to think about taking out accident and travel insurance when you book for a winter sports break – just in case something goes wrong – it goes without saying the same could still happen during these impromptu moments of winter activities, but somehow I don’t think this activity qualifies.
